We would like to give you a friendly welcome to our community. Whether you are a new resident or currently a citizen of Yorktown, your town government is here for you.

Yorktown has a population of almost 10,000 citizens. Over the past several years, we have more than doubled the physical size of the community. All of this has ensured the lowest tax rate of any incorporated community in Delaware County, and at the same time, allows us to continue to provide the highest level of services possible.

The town prides itself on its parks and friendly family atmosphere. Morrow’s Meadow Park is a welcome retreat when you need to relax. Walking trails, playground and picnic areas are available free of charge. Any of the three shelters can be rented for family or business events. The addition of the bridge over Buck Creek connects the park to our newly rebuilt and revitalized downtown. Businesses provide a unique opportunity to browse, shop, or enjoy a meal, enveloped in the small town charm of our community.

New neighborhoods are growing in several areas along side established ones. Because of this growth, Yorktown has a new sports complex with baseball, softball and soccer fields. These fields are located on CR. 600 north of River Rd. The 40 acre Sports Park is also home to the Muncie Y.M.C.A. Yorktown facility and the Munciana Volley Ball Club.

Trash service, water service, sewer service, road repair, and snow plowing are the backbone of town services. However, Yorktown operates its own fully trained and staffed police force which protects the citizens of Yorktown 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We have our own building and zoning regulations and commissioner. The town government is made up of citizens like you.

If you have a question or a concern, please contact the town hall (765-759-4003) or a member of the town board. Yorktown encourages citizen participation at all levels of government. Neighbors helping neighbors is what our community is all about.
