SECRETARY REPORT:  Minutes approved as presented.

 

TREASURER REPORT:  Financial reports approved as presented.

 

LUMINARY FESTIVAL UPDATE – Saturday, Dec 13, noon-7p – Chair Barb Baker updating –  could still use more empty milk jugs – next planning meeting is Nov 13 at 6 pm – booth space is still available.  Dan’s Fish Fry has been added to the event from 4-7 as a fund raiser for the Yorktown Swim Club.

 

YORKTOWN SCHOOL UPDATE – Stacy Brewer attended and was introduced as the new assistant principal at YHS.  A $250 sponsorship was made to the Delaware County Voice to support their efforts in broadcasting YHS athletics.

 

TOWN REPORT – Pete Olson reporting updates from the town council meeting which was last night.  Next council meeting is Nov 17.

 

GUEST SPEAKER, KEN GLAUB, SECRET FAMILIES –  Ken gave a history of how secret families got started through last year serving 287 families!  You can help by sponsoring a family for $550 or volunteering to wrap or deliver on December 6.

 

MISCELLANEOUS NEWS/ANNOUNCEMENTS –  Nomination committee will be formed this month with final nominations made at the November meeting for a December vote – If you are interested in a leadership position, please let a current board member know.  Nominations for citizen of the year can be made between now and the November meeting for a December vote – please email your nominations or present them at the November meeting.  Registration for the Four for the Fourth opens on Black Friday, watch Facebook for details!  Fish Fry Nov 8th to benefit Muncie Masonic Association – 100 Men Who Cook Raffle Tickets are available from Ed Armantrout; YUMC mens chili supper is Nov 14;  Yorktown Candidate Forum is Thursday at 7pm at YHS sponsored by league of women voters.  On October 31st, The Waters of Yorktown  will be hosting trick or treat from 6-7 p.m. and on November 10th, the Indiana Blood Center will be there from 12-4 p.m
