SECRETARY REPORT:      Approved as presented.

 

TREASURER REPORT:      Approved as presented.

 

TOWN REPORT: Council meeting on Monday night – 6/22; Budget process going on; 14 new home permits issued so far this year; new firetruck will arrive anytime and hopes to be at the July 4th festival; splash pad in Memorial Park should be finished the week of 6/22.

 

PROGRAM: Park Board presentation – Jon Myrick – Continue to operate three parks plus all trails and greenspace in town. Have countless partnerships with local groups to enhance programming; meetings are the second Wednesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. at the field operations building – all are welcome to attend and bring ideas, suggestions, and money to back it up!

MISCELLANEOUS NEWS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS: Motion was made and passed to donate $1,000 to the festival for promotion cost expenses. Chamber Pork booth needs volunteers from 2:00 – 10 p.m.; 4 for the 4th is still on record pace, needs volunteers for race day, arrive a 7 a.m. to help. Harvest Soup Kitchen golf outing to be held August 28 at the Players’ Club in Yorktown; Farmer’s Market continues on Fridays, 4 – 7 p.m. at Morrows Meadow; West End Arts district Festival coming in the fall; Morrison Woods Car show on Friday 6/19; First Merchants open house downtown on 6/17 and includes new community room that non-profit organizations can utilize during the business day; Kids in the Meadow is very popular and will continue on Mondays from 5:45 – 8 p.m. through July.
