SECRETARY REPORT:  Minutes approved as presented.

 

TREASURER REPORT:  Financial report approved as presented.

 

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

LUMINARY FESTIVAL –  Barb Baker was not present for an update.

WEBSITETHE NEW WEBSITE IS LIVE www.yorktowninchamber.org – The committee proudly presented the new site and hopes that everyone will go to it now and take it for a test drive.  Additional information is forthcoming.

 

TOWN WORKER APPRECIATION LUNCH – Lunch will be catered soon as an appreciation for the town workers and school workers who helped to keep the roads and sidewalks clear.

 

TOWN UPDATE –   Tonight is the town council meeting – Yorktown Downtown Action Agenda (YDAA) presentation is available on the youtube channel.  The directional sign at Tiger/River has been updated with less words and larger fonts.  Matching façade grants are coming for the downtown area.  If there are pothole issues in the neighborhoods, please report those, but not

 

YORKTOWN SCHOOLS – Snow make-up days are still being discussed.  A number of options are available and will likely be decided yet this week.  A number of challenges are present.

 

CITIZEN OF THE MONTH:  Yorktown Wrestling Team for having the entire team at semi state and sending 7 on to state ; Kelly Shrock for becoming president of the Community Foundation;

 

MISCELLANEOUS NEWS/ANNOUNCEMENTS – A presentation was made to Brendon Comp for his years of service as president.  The official 2013 citizen of the year plaque was presented to the Yorktown Schools.  Yorktown Kiwanis is again helping with tax returns at the Yorktown Library.  Marty Ballard shared good news from the Nazarene Church.
